Getting out there to promote my business

 I just signed up to have a booth at a Business to Business event put on by the Chamber of Commerce. It's a move outside my comfort zone and I have no idea if it will pay off. The business branding and headshot side of my business has grown this year; people are getting out and meeting face to face and a headshot is, once again, an important part of your business presence. I've said this before: you are the face of your business! Whether you are a solopreneur like me or work for a large company, if you are meeting clients face to face (even on Zoom) there is always a reason to have a good headshot. In fact, Zoom is yet another reason! When you join a Zoom meeting, there is that brief moment before you turn on the camera when your headshot represents you. If your headshot is a picture of your cat, that is what the rest of the meeting attendees will see! 

Let's consider the other ways you can use your headshot.  You need to provide a profile picture on your social media accounts: business Facebook page, Instagram, LinkedIn. If you have more than one image, you can change them periodically, to freshen up your feed. Clients have often told me that they get a lot of positive feedback when they put up a new profile picture. Then there is your website. People do business, as we are often told, with those they know, like and trust. You need a picture of yourself on your website and a professional picture gives a favorable impression of your business. Printed Marketing pieces and online advertising can benefit from pictures which show you doing your job, in your office or on location, depending on what business you are in. Then there are directories-business, Chamber of Commerce, professional organization or networking group. Professional publications, public recognition-the uses are almost endless!
