Back to Business!
Thanksgiving has come and gone and I'm trying to figure out where the last month went! Most years, this is a busy time for my photography business but this year the days have flown by for a different reason. My days have been filled with physical therapy appointments and independence milestones. I'm driving again and getting back into my usual activities. Now to get back to business!
With a bunch of snow on the ground and my mobility still not 100%, I have been looking for ways to work, while still taking it easy. I can't wave my wand and produce customers but I can work on updating my website and systems. I can refresh my content and work on new ideas for marketing my services. I will return to my regular networking breakfast tomorrow... if the predicted freezing rain does not materialize!
Then, of course, there is Christmas which will arrive whether or not I am ready for it! I've had to make some changes; I won't be sending a family calendar to the relatives in the UK this year. When the President abolished the "de minimus" rule, which exempted items under $800 value from duty, it became impractical to send gifts overseas. We've agreed to let it go this year. On the other hand, in the midst of all the tariffs, the very items I searched for unsuccessfully last year have become available! My daughter found real Christmas Crackers, the kind with the bang, in a discount store! (Last year, if you recall, I was solemnly informed that these were fireworks and illegal to sell.) I found mincemeat in the grocery store and I bought my Christmas pudding on Amazon. A traditional English Christmas is in the works!
While the weather is bad, I plan to reorganize my studio space. I have more room now that I have my office in another room. It's time to hustle and get some headshot clients for the new year. My calendar for January is wide open!
